About Shannon
I’m not one for longwinded or pretentious artist statements so I’ll keep this brief. Since I was little, I knew I wanted to be an artist. I’ve taken some scenic detours in life that have helped me learn a variety of skills but never fully filled the void that art fills for me. For a long time, I felt like I had to fit into certain boxes to “make it” as an artist but recently, I’ve really felt like I’ve found my groove and it’s not within the imaginary box I created.
When I’m not painting, I want to be painting and oftentimes ideas for new paintings dominate my thoughts. My art is colorful and sometimes chaotic but it’s always inspired by nature - the mountains and trees around me, sunsets and sunrises, the tamaracks changing colors in the fall, the beautiful blue waters in Montana, where I’m lucky enough to call home.
Thanks for being here!
